KiAI、総務省JPD3「ベンチャー/スタートアップ企業の海外展開ノウハウ」ワークショップに登壇
~総務省主導の官民デジタル海外展開プラットフォームで、ナイジェリア展開の取り組みを発表~
株式会社KiAI(本社:茨城県日立市、代表取締役:大場一雅)は、総務省が主導する「デジタル海外展開プラットフォーム(JPD3: Japan Platform for Driving Digital Development)」2025年度第5回ワークショップ「ベンチャー/スタートアップ企業の海外展開ノウハウ」に登壇企業として選出され、ナイジェリアにおける事業展開の実績と知見を発表いたしました。
JPD3は、日本企業によるデジタル技術の海外展開を支援する目的で2021年2月に設立された官民連携プラットフォームであり、通信事業者やICTベンダー、ICTスタートアップ企業、商社、コンサルタント企業、金融機関などデジタル技術の海外展開に関わる日本企業のほか、関係省庁・機関等が多数参加しています。JPD3では、海外各国・地域のデジタル技術に関する情報やニーズを収集・共有し、案件形成を後押しするとともに、海外展開に向けた会員間でのマッチングを促進するなど、日本企業のデジタル技術の海外展開の一連の流れを切れ目なく支援しています。本ワークショップは、実際に海外展開を実現したベンチャー/スタートアップ企業の成功事例と課題を共有し、今後の展開を目指す企業への実践的な知見提供を目的として、JPD3会員企業および関係省庁・機関に向けて開催されました。
当社は、2025年度総務省「安全性・信頼性を確保したデジタルインフラの海外展開支援事業」地方枠に採択され、8月から12月にかけてナイジェリア・アブジャにおいて、アブジャ商工会議所(ACCI)と連携した中小企業の輸出戦略最適化支援プロジェクトを実施しました。本プロジェクトでは、AIプラットフォーム「KiAI」のナイジェリア市場向けローカライズ、アブジャ国際トレードフェアへの参加、20社以上の現地中小企業への徹底的なヒアリング調査を通じて、現地の真のニーズを把握しました。その結果、情報提供にとどまらず営業支援・信用調査を含む統合サービス「Trst」の構想へと発展させ、わずか7ヶ月間でパートナーシップ構築から新サービス構想までを実現しました。
本ワークショップでは、地方発スタートアップとして茨城県日立市から始まり、ナイジェリアでの案件形成に取り組んだ当社の実践的なアプローチと、現地パートナーとの関係構築プロセスについて発表いたしました。特に、現地ニーズの深掘りから新サービス構想に至るまでのプロダクト進化の過程や、ACCIとの連携を通じた信頼関係の構築手法などを共有し、参加企業・機関の皆様と有意義な意見交換を行うことができました。
今回の登壇を通じて得られたフィードバックとJPD3会員企業とのネットワークを活かし、KiAIは2026年以降、ナイジェリアでの本格展開およびガーナ、ケニアなど他のアフリカ諸国への横展開を加速してまいります。また、総務省、JICA、JETROをはじめとする関係省庁・機関との連携をさらに深化させ、日本の中小企業とアフリカ中小企業の相互成長を促進するプラットフォームとして、グローバルな事業展開を推進してまいります。
KiAI Inc. (Headquarters: Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture; CEO: Kazumasa Oba) was selected to present at the 5th Workshop of JPD3 (Japan Platform for Driving Digital Development), the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ digital overseas expansion platform, themed “Global Expansion Know-how for Ventures and Startups,” where we shared our business achievements and insights from our operations in Nigeria.
JPD3 is a public-private platform established in February 2021 to support Japanese companies’ overseas expansion of digital technologies, with participation from telecommunications carriers, ICT vendors, ICT startups, trading companies, consulting firms, financial institutions, and other Japanese companies involved in overseas expansion of digital technologies, as well as related ministries and agencies. JPD3 collects and shares information and needs regarding digital technologies in various countries and regions, promotes project formation, and facilitates matching among members for overseas expansion, providing seamless support for the entire process of Japanese companies’ digital technology overseas expansion. This workshop was designed to share practical success stories and challenges from ventures and startups that have achieved international expansion, providing actionable insights for member companies and related ministries and agencies planning future global growth.
Our company was selected for the FY2025 Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications’ “Support Program for Overseas Expansion of Digital Infrastructure Ensuring Safety and Reliability” regional framework, and from August to December 2025, we conducted a project in Abuja, Nigeria, in partnership with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) to optimize export strategies for small and medium enterprises. Through this project, we localized our AI platform “KiAI” for the Nigerian market, participated in the Abuja International Trade Fair, conducted thorough interviews with over 20 local SMEs, and identified genuine local needs. This led to the evolution of our service concept into “Trst”—an integrated platform encompassing sales support and credit verification—achieving everything from partnership building to new service conceptualization within just seven months.
At the workshop, we presented our practical approach as a regional startup originating from Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, working on project formation in Nigeria, and our process of building relationships with local partners. In particular, we shared the product evolution process from deepening local needs understanding to new service conceptualization, as well as our methodology for building trust through collaboration with ACCI, and had meaningful discussions with participating companies and organizations.
Leveraging the feedback and networks with JPD3 member companies gained through this presentation, KiAI will accelerate full-scale operations in Nigeria and horizontal expansion to other African countries including Ghana and Kenya from 2026 onwards. We will also deepen our collaboration with related ministries and agencies including the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, JICA, and JETRO, promoting global business expansion as a platform that facilitates mutual growth between Japanese and African SMEs.
